Product Description
Triax Touch HIC (Head Impact Tester) with tripod and hard case
PN-TRIAX-HIC-01-S
|
The Triax Touch HIC Impact Tester with tripod is used to measure the impact attenuation of surfaces under and around playground equipment in compliance with worldwide ASTM standards for safety. The unit has a hemispherical shaped impact hammer with a weight of 10.1 pounds. The hammer is dropped from an adjustable height tripod and the hammer can be dropped from variable but consistent heights. Results are displayed on the wireless handheld tablet and drop test data can also be transferred from a removable SD card into the Triax software on a PC or laptop computer. To further ensure accuracy and repeatability an electromagnet hold and release system prevents errors caused by operators manually dropping the head form, influencing the fall trajectory. This ensures that sequential drops are from the same height and to the same point on the surface. The Triax Touch HIC Impact Tester with tripod is in compliance with worldwide standards for testing surfaces under and around playground equipment including but not limited to:ASTM F1292

For Critical Fall Height (CFH) calculation, as per EN1177, four drop tests must be performed with the Triax Touch HIC Impact Tester, changing the drop height to result in increasing HIC values. The first two drop tests must result in HIC values below 1000 while the second two result in HIC values greater than 1000. This can also be displayed on a computer by inserting the units memory card in the computer and downloading the data

The Triax Touch HIC Impact Testers Handheld Controller is small enough to fit in your pocket
|
For fine adjustment of drop height, a flexible steel cable is used to raise and lower the steel lifting block. To prevent the cable position from changing the supplied locking device is attached to the leg section adjacent to the location where the cable exits the tripod head.
The use of Triax Touch E system (HIC) is applicable to a wide range of additional standards including:
